David W. Nabors

Founded in 2003 by David W. Nabors, Nabors Forensic Consultants,LLC is backed with 27 years of law enforcement and 22 years of crime scene investigation experience with over 3700 hours of training in criminal investigations, interview/interrogation techniques, law, child abuse, narcotics, death investigation, crime scene, homicide, internal affairs,management, patrol tactics, defensive tactics, Public Information and Media Management, NIMS incident command, and WMD.

During his career he has been involved in several high profile cases in the Dallas area. David was the Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division of a midsize police department from 1999 - 2009.  He now heads up the Office of Professional Standards where he is responsible for hiring, recruiting and conducting Internal Affairs Investigations. During his career he has worked Death Scenes, Sex Crimes, Burglary and Theft, Juvenile Sex crimes and Juvenile Crimes and Internal Affairs.


He has been working crime scene investigations since 1987, and supervising the unit since 1995. He now heads the Office of Professional Standards where he manages the departments training, recruiting and conducts Internal Affairs investigations. David has appeared on numerous television shows in the US, Canada and Great Britain. He is a frequent lecturer and instructor in the North Texas area. He is also an Adjunct Instructior for a Homicide Class sponsered by the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville in Kentuckey. 

   In April 1999, Lt. Nabors tested for and received the highest certification awarded, Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst, from the International Association for Identification, a professional Crime Scene Organization. In June of 1999 he was named to the Crime Scene Certification Board for the Texas Division of the International Association for Identification, which he chaired until 2001. He is a member of the International Association for Identification, the Texas Division of the International Association for Identification, the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts, the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction, the International Association of Homicide Investigators and  the Nassional Association of Internal Affairs Investigators.

   Lt. Nabors has appeared on CBS News 48hrs (twice), NBC’s’ Prime Time Live, the Learning Channels Medical Detectives, A&E Channel’s American Justice, Law Enforcement Training Network programs Command Center, and Mothers Who Kill, and the Fire and Emergency Training Network. He has presented cases and lectured to the Texas Division of the International Association for Identification, Dallas Methodist Hospital’s Paramedic Training Program, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Family Violence Conference at the Galaxy Women’s Center in Dallas, Grayson County College classes and Forensic Conference, Weatherford College Forensic Conference, as well lectured at numerous Texas police departments and citizens groups. In 2005 and 2008 David presented leadership classes to the Zambian National Police in Lusaka, Zambia Africa.

   He holds TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer license and Instructor certifications and is a certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst. Lt. Nabors is an August 2001 graduate of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Unit Commanders Academy, a November 2001 graduate of the Sam Houston State University Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute Leadership and Command College, graduate of TX FBINA Management College and a November 2007 Graduate of the 118th AOC at the Southern Police Institute located on the campus of the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentuckey. Lt. Nabors is also certified as a Mediator.

James G. Cron

                                   FORENSIC IDENTIFICATION CONSULTANT
 
   James Cron, a Forensic Identification Consultant, has 51 years experience in physical evidence, crime scene search, fingerprints, crime scene analysis and law enforcement instruction. He retired as a Lieutenant in the Dallas County, Texas Sheriff’s Department. He served 29 years (1964-1993). Cron worked 6 years (1958-1964) as a civilian for the Dallas, Texas Police Department in the crime scene section, records and jail office. 

   Jim is a Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst and a Certified Latent Print Examiner by the International Association for Identification. He has been involved in almost 10,000 criminal and civil cases, over 4000 death investigations, observed around 1000 autopsies and has testified in federal, state and county courts. 

 Jim has received specialized training in his expertise from numerous federal and state agencies, universities, law enforcement agencies and organizations in Texas, the USA and Toronto, Canada. He is a State of Texas Law Enforcement Instructor. Cron lectures and teaches nationally and locally at law enforcement academies, universities, private organizations, public schools and civic groups. 

 Jim has over 150 commendations, awards and various forms of recognition. He has appeared numerous times in magazines, newspapers, radio talk shows, true crime books and local, national and European TV programs. He is a technical adviser to authors, TV productions and movies. His material has been printed in technical journals and in training textbooks. He is a Life Member of the International Association of Identification and it’s Texas Division. On retiring he received the State of Texas Professional Achievement in Law Enforcement Award



PATSY “PAT” MCMILLAN

                                FORENSIC IDENTIFICATION CONSULTANT 


   Pat McMillan is a Forensic Identification Consultant with 33 years experience in fingerprints, crime scene search, physical evidence, crime scene analysis and law enforcement instruction. She is a retired Assistant Chief Deputy of the Dallas County, Texas Sheriff’s Department. She served 26 years (1976-2002). 

   Pat is a Certified Latent Print Examiner by the International Association for Identification. She was the first female in Texas to qualify for this certification. She has been involved in over 2000 criminal and civil cases, attended over 100 autopsies and has testified in federal, state and county courts. She earned a Texas Master Police Officer Certificate and was certified as a Range Master. 

   Pat has received extensive specialized training in her career field from federal and state agencies, universities, law enforcement agencies and organizations in Texas and the USA. She has a BA Degree, a State of Texas Teacher’s Certification and a Texas Law Enforcement Instructor’s Certification. She teaches and lectures nationally and locally at law enforcement academies, federal agencies, public schools, private organizations and civic groups. 

   Pat has received numerous awards, commendations and other forms of recognition. She has appeared in many newspaper articles and on television programs. She is a Life Member of the International Association for Identification and it’s Texas Division. When she retired, McMillan received a Dallas County Commissioner’s Court Proclamation for Professional Achievement.
